Note: Finding SOC codes
A lot of the government salary data is organized by the Standard Occupational Classification (SOC) codes. There are over 800 codes that provide detailed descriptions of jobs, and the codes are organized hierarchically by broad occupational categories. These can generally be found in the links within the Occupational Outlook Handbook, but you can also use the links below to search the 2018, or most recent, SOC codes.
