Information on hours of operation or instructions for visits can usually be found in the "About" or "Contact Us" pages.

Generally speaking, public libraries will try to have physical or digital resources relating to the history of their local city or county.

Online libraries and archives

Internet Archive Books collection - The Internet Archive, a 501(c)(3) non-profit, is building a digital library of Internet sites and other cultural artifacts in digital form. Some books can be freely read and downloaded. Others can be borrowed and read in the online book reader.

HathiTrust - a not-for-profit collaborative of academic and research libraries preserving 17+ million digitized items. HathiTrust offers reading access to the fullest extent allowable by U.S. copyright law, computational access to the entire corpus for scholarly research, and other emerging services based on the combined collection. While SDSU is a member library, not all items will have full view due to copyright or other restrictions.
