Using APIs to Collect Data from Media/Social Media Sources
The workshop assumes attendees are familiar with the basics of Python and Jupyter Notebook but all are encouraged to attend. I talked about APIs (Application Program Interface) and used the New York Times (NYT) Article Search API as an example to show the audience how to collect data with Python. The Jupyter Notebook parses the messy data output from NYT API into something meaningful.
