A workshop series for SDSU undergrad and graduate students who need to find and use health related data for their research. 

All workshops will be held in the Library computer labs - LA-76.

• Show you how to comply with public access funder mandates and journal data sharing requirements.
• Help you write data management and sharing plans as required by many grants, or you can use our customized DMPTool.
• Teach a workshop so your research team or students know how to organize and manage data and related research documents throughout their projects.
• Help you explore the use of collaboration tools to work with research partners and manage research workflows, including the Open Science Framework.
• Connect you with other SDSU groups that can help with the storage, security, and analysis of your data.
• Assist you in identifying and using data repositories to preserve and share your data, or help you deposit your data for sharing and public access.
• Help with metadata and documentation to make your data searchable and citable, to ensure your work can be found and credited.

If you start planning early, you can save time later when your data is easy to find, use, analyze, and share with your collaborators.

• Proper storage and backups help prevent data loss.
• Some funders require a data management plan. The DMPTool will make sure you include everything required.
• Some journals now require data to be deposited and made available in a repository.
• Storing your data with proper documentation will make sure that others can discover and build on your research and that you get credit when others use your data.

The SDSU Library's RDM Team is composed of three librarians and offer a variety of services to SDSU-affiliated researchers.

• DMPTool - login with your SDSU gmail username and password to access online templates from major funding agencies
• DMP Review - choose the option for "review" when finishing your DMP and the committee will be notified and will review your DMP and provide feedback
• Data Management Education - The RDM Team will be offering workshops on topics surrounding best practices in data management through the library, the Center for Teaching and Learning and The Research Foundation Workshop Series. Keep an eye out for announcements!
