Tests & Measures

How to locate health, psychological, and psychosocial tests & measures.

Steps for finding a test review

Test reviews can be found in reference books/works and in journal articles.  This page will help you to locate test reviews.  Not every test will have a review.

  1. Search Mental Measurement Yearbook (MMY), which provides reliability/validity information and reviews of commercial, published tests.  Instructions & Tips
  2. Consult Test Critiques, a print (not online) source similar to MMY but includes some noncommercial unpublished tests.  Instructions & Tips
  3. Search journal articles for evaluations and reviews of commercial and unpublished tests.
    • PsycINFO Instructions & Tips
Journal articles, books, and book chapters in psychology and related disciplines.
    • CINAHL Instructions & Tips
Journal articles, book chapters, dissertations, conference proceedings, care plans, and pamphlets in nursing and other allied health fields.
    • ERIC Instructions & Tips
Journal articles, conference papers, dissertations, curricular material, documents, and more in education.

  • Select TI Test Name field in the drop down menu.

  • Type valid* or reliabil* or psychometric* in the first box.
  • Type the "name of your test" in the second box and select SU-Subjects field from the drop down menu.
