Literature Review & Annotated Bibliography

Both Literature Reviews and Annotated Bibliographies require you gather sources and provide a summary and analysis as it related specifically to your research question. These sources are largely made up of scholarly journal articles and books.

Annotated Bibliography

An annotated bibliography is a list of sources followed by a descriptive and evaluative paragraph.

  • An annotated bibliography helps the research identify what has been discovered and discussed by existing literature because it provides an in-depth review of the topic and encourages critical thinking. It is a way for you to critically read the source, identify the main points, and highlight the strengths and weaknesses of their arguments as it pertains to your topic.
