Studies in the News (SITN) is a weekly newsletter featuring some of the most recent and newsworthy academic studies, demographic findings, and court decisions, all with a focus on California public policy. SITN is published by the California Research Bureau, and is just one of many informative newsletters offered by the California State Library.

The mission of this non-profit organization is to inform and improve public policy in California through independent, objective, nonpartisan research on major social, economic, and political issues.

The Sphere Institute is a non-profit policy organization. It publishes the California Policy Review which examines topics relevant for the public policy community in California, including state and local government. Alternating between three distinct series - Social Policy, Growth and Employment Policy, and Regional Economic Outlook - the Review is written by authors from universities, think tanks and government agencies. Each issue addresses a single subject by exploring an emerging policy concern, distilling key research findings, or considering the trade-offs among policy options.
