How to install and get started using the various EndNote versions

Exporting References from OneSearch

You can export references from the library website to your EndNote Online Library using the EndNote button.   With most other websites and databases you will need to use the export RIS option. 

  1. Click on the reference you want to save within in the search results 
  2. Click on the EndNote button on the top of the full item record 
  3. A new tab will open with your EndNote Online Library 
  4. Select My References on the Endnote Online toolbar
  5. The new reference will appear in the Unfiled group
  6. You can move the reference to an existing group 
    • Select the reference
    • Select the Add to group... drop down menu 
    • Select the group you want to move the reference to

Capture Reference

You can install EndNote Capture to capture online references from webpages. You must first sign up at http://myendnoteweb.com

  1. Log into EndNote Online.
  2. Click on Downloads.
  3. Drag the Capture Reference button to your Bookmarks bar (also known as "Favorites Bar" or "Bookmarks Toolbar"). In some browsers, you may need to right-click and select "Add to Favorites" or "Bookmark This Link."

To use it, browse to a page you like and click the Capture Reference button in the Bookmarks bar. The Capture Reference window will open. Follow the instructions in the window.
