Latin American Studies

A guide to finding books, articles and data about Latin America in the SDSU library and beyond.

Find books in OneSearch at SDSU Library Catalog!

~ OneSearch

What is it?
It is a meta-search engine, which means that it is a system that is capable of searching in different indexes at the same time. For print books will give you its location on the shelf and if it is an electronic material, it will redirect you to the database or resource where the information is available. Some are in full text, others just give you the reference.
What is its content?

It is connected to our catalog and to the databases that the library subscribes to; you will be able to locate books, articles, news, audio, films, microforms, etc.

It is also connected to more library collections and to the lists of materials reserved for courses.

What is it useful for?

You can use it mostly to find books because it is connected to our catalog but it is also an excellent first step in the search for journal articles and other materials.

By signing in to the platform you will be able to review and renew the materials you have on loan. It will allow you to request materials that are on loan from others. And you will also be able to have remote access to full-text electronic materials when you are away from campus.

How does it works?

Allows basic and advanced searches.

It recognizes Boolean operators.

If you are signed in you can create folders and save materials you find interesting.
