Helpful Library Information

In order to access our thousands of electronic resources - including journal articles and library computer stations - you must register for your SDSUid.

You can access our eJournals from off-campus by always going through the library website to search databases (even Google Scholar) and signing in with your SDSUid and password.

There are multiple places to pay-for-print in the library:

  • 24/7 Study Area
  • Library Computing Hub (2nd floor of Love Library)
  • Research Services (1st floor of Dome)
  • 1st floor Love Library

Printing is 10¢ for black and white and 35¢ for color. B&W is default, so you wil have to change the printer to color in the print settings page.

You can print from your own computer by sending an email. The steps to print in the library are outlined on the Print Webpage.

The Print, Copy, Scan & Fax Page also details where copiers, scanners, and fax machines can be found in the library and their cost.

Adding money to your SDSU card can be done at the Aztec Markets, via credit card online, or at DART machines located throughout the library.

  • DART machines take BILLS only. There are bill changers in 24/7 and the Library Computing Hub.

There are multiple ways to request and borrow materials at the library. The library website has information on Loan Periods.

  • Checkout a book or bound periodical from our collection at the circulation desk
    • checkout media and media equipment from the Circulation Desk
  • Request a book from one of the other CSU libraries via CSU+
  • Request a book from a local library via Circuit
  • Request items not in the CSU or Circuit via Interlibrary Loan (ILL)

Course Reserves can be checked out from the Circulation Desk and used for a defined period of time (typically 2-3 hours).

Special Collections are located on the 1st floor of Love Library and do not circulate.

The Love Library and Library Addition have many different services and spaces available for your use. Please explore and find what fits your needs!

  • There is a 24/7 Study Area open all semester. You just need to show your RedID to enter after normal library hours.
  • There are two main Quiet Study areas in the library:
    • Room LL2203 in the 24/7 Study Area
    • All of the 5th floor of Love Library
  • The Library Computing Hub on the Love Library 2nd floor is a bright, functional space for working with specialized software, printing, copying, and getting help with computer issues.
  • The Writing Center is located on the 1st floor of the Library Addition - directly behind you when you come down the stairs.
  • Library Classrooms are located in the basement of the Library Addition as well. If you have a class scheduled for LA-76 or LA-78, go down two stories from the Dome entrance.
