Standards are rules, techniques and conditions for engineering design, industrial practices, units of measurement, terminology, etc. Standards can be mandatory or voluntary. Think of standards as rules for uniformity, size, quality, performance, shape, definition and testing methodology of manufactured products.
SDSU students can access standards purchased by the library through a few online outlets. Print standards can be found in the Reference Collection located on the first floor of the Library Addition.
ASTM Compass 2.0 provides access to ASTM's 12,500+ standards, the ASTM Digital Library that contains 1,500+ books, 16,800+ Journal Articles, and more than 47,000+ papers, chapters and articles, as well as online training courses and videos.
