Instructions for using Consumer Expenditure data in SimplyAnalytics Maps, Tables, or Rankings:
1. Once you have selected your geography and started your project, select "Data" tab on the top left hand side
2. Using the drop down options next to "Browse by" select "Dataset" opposed to category.
3. Select either the "Consumer Expenditure," "Scarborough Local Insights," or the "SimmonsLOCAL US" folders.
4. Use the folder navigation to find your desired product or service category (For example: Food-Dairy in SimmonsLOCAL), and drill down to whichever specific variable(s) that you are interested in. (For Example: % of people who have used Philadelphia Cream Cheese in the last 30 days in SimmonsLOCAL)
NOTE: The Simmons data and the Nielsen data from the Scarborough surveys are more specific than the Consumer Expenditure data from the Bureau of Labor Statistics.

Passport has excellent consumer spending statistics in a variety of industries, mostly consumer goods and retailing, but it also contains several useful reports, briefings, and other analyses on consumer trends, consumer lifestyles, and households. You can use the "Explore Statistics" box in the Consumers Section to browse statistics, or you can use the search bar to search for analysis and statistics for over 100 countries.

The "Fitch Solutions Country Industry Reports" in ABI/INFORM are detailed quarterly reports that cover multiple industries in multiple countries, and the "Consumer & Retail" reports from Fitch have detailed expenditure information for consumer product categories. NOTE: These reports are not published every quarter for every country.
