Requesting Materials from CSU Libraries: CSU+

You can check out a book or audio-visual materials from any university in the CSU system through CSU+ and pick it up at the SDSU University Library.

The first step is to make sure that the library does not have those materials ""

To check our collections : 

Search for your materials by 

  1. Scroll down below the search box and locate and select the Collections button on the library homepage
  2. Locate and select the Books & ebooks button
  3. Enter the title of the book in the search book

If we do not have the title

If you are not signed in already, sign in to your SDSU account

  1. Scroll down and locate the Look Elsewhere heading and select the Look in Other California State University Libraries and Other collections option
  2. Locate the book you want to request and click on  Check for available services
  3. Select the GET IT button
  4. Chose your pick-up location 
  5. Select the Send button to submit your request

You will see a confirmation. You can review and manage your requests through OneSearch. To do this select your name from the upper right corner of the page. I drop down will appear. Select My Requests from the dropdown to review and manage your requests.

You will get an email in your SDSU email account when the book is at SDSU and is ready for you to check out.

Request Materials San Diego Libraries: San Diego Circuit

You can also request books from a consortium of San Diego public and academic libraries through San Diego Circuit and pick them up at an SDSU Library 

To request a book through Circuit:""

Search for your book by 

  1. Scroll down below the search box and locate and select the Collections button
  2. Locate and select the Books & ebooks button
  3. Enter the title of the book in the search book

If we do not have the title

  1.  Locate the Look Elsewhere and locate the Request it from Local Libraries through San Diego Circuit option 
  2. You will be brought to the Circuit interface. See if the title is available, if so click Request 
  3. Select your institution, San Diego State Library 
  4. Enter your name and  Red ID number. 
  5. Chose the SDSU Campus where you want the item delivered 
  6. Click Submit 

You will receive an email when the item is ready for you to pick it up. Head to the Circulation Desk to check out your item. 

Interlibrary Loan - Request Materials from Around the World: ILLiad

Interlibrary Loan (ILL) 

Found an article that is not available through the library? You can request that article through interlibrary loan.   

 To do that head to the SDSU Library website (library.sdsu.edu) and start by checking for that article by entering the title in the search box on the library homepage.  If you have verified that we do not have it, you can submit a request through interlibrary loan.  To do that follow these steps: 

  1. On the library Hompage, select Support and Services 
  2. Scroll down and select the Interlibrary Loan  button 
  3. Scroll down and select the Submit a Request (ILLiad) Login button
  4. Enter your SDSU email address and password and select the Logon to ILLiad button
  5. Look for the New Request heading at the top and choose that link to open the dropdown 
  6.  Select the type of material being requested. (Article, book, book chapter, ect..)
  7. Fill out the required fields of the form and as much information as you have
  8. Submit your request

You will receive an email at your SDSU email address once the request is processed. Log back into ILLiad to access your interlibrary loan.
